Lancashire Home Care LTD is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Domiciliary Health Care Assistants. As a leading provider of home care services in Lancashire, we are committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. Car drivers are preferred for this role as it may involve travel within the Lancashire region.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing Personalized Care: Delivering person-centered care to individuals in their own homes, following care plans and providing assistance with tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
2. Medication Management: Assisting with the administration of prescribed medications according to individual care plans, ensuring correct dosage and accurate record-keeping.
3. Monitoring Health: Routinely monitoring vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and reporting any noted changes or concerns to the supervising nurse or care coordinator.
4. Assisting with Daily Activities: Supporting clients in activities of daily living, including preparing meals, feeding, mobility assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
5. Companionship: Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in social activities, and promoting their overall well-being and independence.
6. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of care provided, including observations, tasks completed, and any changes in the client’s condition.
7. Communication: Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and the care team, ensuring timely updates on the client’s progress, needs, and any concerns.
8. Health and Safety: Adhering to health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and risk-free environment, and promptly reporting any incidents or hazards.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience in a similar care field is desirable but not essential.
2. Qualifications: Minimum of a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is preferred.
3. Car Driver: A valid driving license and own car is preferred for this role as it may involve travel within the Lancashire region.
4. Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrating a caring and empathetic nature towards clients, always promoting their dignity, privacy, and independence.
5. Reliability and Punctuality: Displaying excellent attendance and timekeeping, ensuring reliable and punctual service delivery to clients.
6. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and the care team.
7. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing schedules and support with occasional evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as required.
8. Clear Background Check: Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
